Playing with Bubbie and Zayda
May 18, 2009
We were all recently in Montreal for Willow’s Auntie Sharron’s birthday party. We were all very pleasantly surprised how attached Willow became to her grandparents Ralph and Clara. It was the first time Willow called them “Bubbie” and “Zayda,” the affectionate Jewish names for grandmother and grandfather. Willow loved going to the park and blowing bubbles with Bubbie, and watching TV and playing catch with Zayda. They adore Willow as much as she does them.

I thought there could be nothing cuter than watching her play catch with that hat, but then when I saw the three of them walking hand-in-hand along the sidewalk, I actually got tears in my eyes. Absolutely precious. I’m so glad you shared. Looks like a trip full of beautiful memories.

Thanks, Barb. We have some stills (as well as the video) of Willow walking between my parents on our way into the restaurant that I really love. Gong and I were walking behind and luckily he was holding his camera. As you know, you can’t dictate the affections of a child. That she so adores my parents feels like a real gift (to me!). Hope you and Sam are doing well. I love the monthly photo updates!
